Okay just ONE spoiler: Man buns are a win. I'm forever envious of anyone that can pull one off.

The White Tiger, directed by Ramin Bahrani, released on January 22th on Netflix. It is based on the New York Times Best Selling Novel that shares the same name. The story follows Balram, an ambitious Indian servant that tries to "fight" his way out of poverty, stopping at nothing to get what he wants.
Balram, played by Adarsh Gourav, goes through several ups and downs. Despite doing some questionable things, he is certainly a likeable protagonist, and you find yourself rooting for him throughout the entire movie. It is quite the journey that extends throughout India, and I believe Ramin Bahrani portrays the expansiveness and diverse culture of the nation quite beautifully. Also, the soundtrack is pretty lit. It's mixed with classic Indian-style songs, as well as a feature from Gorillaz.
I think I have a soft spot for films surrounding Indian culture. As a kid, I watched Life of Pi countless times, and movies like Slumdog Millionaire and Million Dollar Arm are timeless for me. Hotel Mumbai, despite being rather intense to watch, is also a fantastic movie. Some day I'd like to travel to India to experience that culture myself. Nevertheless, I will be adding The White Tiger to this list.
Basically, if you want an entertaining story of a pretty epic journey, this would be near the top of my list for recommendations. Priyanka Chopra Jonas also stars in the movie as "Madam Pinky:" another win. It certainly has its flaws, its length being one of them, but you won't regret watching it. Every once in a while Netflix Originals hit, evidently.
