This is Where the Fun Begins... (12/21)

It's an exciting time to be a Star Wars fan to say the least. A couple weeks ago on December 10th, Disney announced a plethora of new projects set to release in the next few years. This, as I'm sure you can imagine, had fans from all over the world going insane on social media. It was great day to be a nerd. :)

My goodness

It's beautiful, isn't it?

This is what we as Star Wars fans have to look forward to in the upcoming years, and, unlike the sequels, I don't think this slate of projects will disappoint me. I'm going to briefly go over each of the Star Wars projects shown above and basically give an excitement level rating for each of them.

Let's start with the Obi-Wan Kenobi Series. Apparently, it'll be something along the lines of a 6 episode series with hour-long episodes. This is PERFECT. Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen (!!!) will be reprising their roles as Kenobi and Darth Vader (!!!), but other than that I don't think we know much. I think we all know how excited I am for this.

10/10

Next let's talk about the Bad Batch series coming out. If I'm being honest, their arc in the most recent season of the Clone Wars wasn't anything to write home about. The characters are interesting enough, except for that one huge guy who obnoxiously laughs every 10 seconds. With that being said, I will gladly take another animated series, as Lucasfilm has yet to miss in that regard (In my opinion Rebels was very good). The Trailer that came out with it looked great as well, featuring some main characters to tie everything together.

Rating: 7.5/10

The Acolyte. This show is said to "focus on the emergence of dark side powers in the final days of the High Republic Era." I don't know much about the High Republic and what it has to offer, but this show sounds like it's going to be dark, and I'm all in because of that. I love the idea of seeing Star Wars from the point of view of the dark side.

Rating: 9/10

The Cassian Andor Series. This might be an unpopular opinion, but I loved Rogue One and especially a few of the characters introduced, one of them being Cassian. Diego Luna will be reprising his role, as this story I assume is going to take place during the events leading up to Rogue One. In Rogue One, Andor mentions that he's "been in this fight since he was 6 years old." I bet that this show will bring to light just exactly what he meant by that.

Rating: 8.5/10

Rangers of the New Republic. I mean, if Dave Filoni is in this as New Republic Pilot Trapper Wolf, then I'm pretty hyped about it.

Rating 6/10 (Don't know anything)

Visions. Now this is something that I didn't think we'd get from Lucasfilm and Disney, but I'm certainly not complaining. This show will be an anime style show created by some of the most talented Japanese artists. As an anime fan myself, this might be a sleeper pick for my most anticipated project.

Rating: 9.5/10

Mandalorian Season 3. I don't have to say much about this. I've loved every bit of every episode of The Mandalorian (Except for maybe that spider episode), and I wish I could personally thank Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni for saving Star Wars after the mishap that was the Sequels.

Rating: 9/10

Ahsoka. Yes. Rosario Dawson is perfect, and I know Dave Filoni will make sure her (his) character will be treated right.

Rating: 9.5/10

Star Wars: A Droid Story. I'm intrigued, and I'm sure it'll end up being a very cute show. It's Star Wars so I'll watch, but not the most excited about this.

Rating: 5/10

Lando. Uh, to be honest, I'm not totally sure why we're getting this. I'm not mad about it, but I just don't understand why they decided to do this show instead of others. I'm sure they bring back Donald Glover, but I'm hoping Han Solo isn't involved. I'm just hoping we don't have to see Childish Gambino flirt with any more droids, and seeing Bespin/Cloud City again wouldn't hurt.

Rating: 7/10

The last announcement on the 10th of December was Rogue Squadron, an upcoming Star Wars film directed by the talented Patty Jenkins (Wonder Woman). I'm always up to see some more starfighter dogfights throughout the galaxy, and it sounds like that's what were getting with this.

Rating: 8.5/10

We also now know that a movie directed by Taika Waititi (Yes!!!) will be coming out in a few years, and The Book Of Boba Fett will be coming out at the same time as Mando in December. I'll just give both of these a 10/10.

I've gotta say, I feel spoiled. There's always a chance that these shows and movies end up being a bust, but with Dave Filoni, Jon Favreau and Kathleen Kennedy at the helm I really don't see that happening. They've got all my trust.

May the Force be with you!
