The McRib Review You Have All Been Waiting For

So today I finally had the McRib meal from McDonalds that gets all this hype from across the country. Full disclosure, I really wanted to hate this sandwich. I wanted to get on here and write a terrible review about the nation's most over hyped sandwich there has ever been. I cannot do that. I actually kind of liked the McRib.
The McRib, for those who do not know, is a barbecue sauce covered slab of "rib meat" with some pickles. I opened up the box, and I'll add the picture to this blog somewhere, and there is BBQ sauce everywhere. I'm telling you, the picture I took doesn't do it justice. There was a lot more sauce than the photo shows us, I swear. It almost looked like my McRib sandwich wrestled a bottle of BBQ sauce to the death inside the box it came in. Again, I had very very low expectations for this sandwich, but when I opened the box the sweet smell of that sauce just hit me right in the face and I loved it. When I was driving home from my local McDonalds to sit down and eat I caught the smell of the pickles and got very excited.
My first bite was pretty good. I liked the texture of the meat (that was my biggest concern), the taste of the sauce and the pickles and bun just put the cherry on top if you will.
With my second bite, I was pretty underwhelmed. As I was eating the second bite, I didn't like it almost at all. I didn't know a food item could be so different from bit to bite.
Finally, with my third bite the sandwich became less volatile. I started to settle in to my final opinion. The sandwich is good.
Now, the thing about the McRib is that it is a BBQ sandwich at McDonalds. Very very rarely would I ever want to go to McDonalds to get a McRib just because I'm craving it. If I'm craving BBQ, I am certainly not going to McDonalds. I go to McDonalds when I want a McChicken or a Sprite or something like that. Not a McRib.
Overall, the McRib is pretty good. It is pretty unlikely I ever get it again unless I don't have time to go anywhere other than McDonalds when I want something with BBQ sauce. I recommend that everyone try it at least once, but I would never say you HAVE to have it.
